Mustang was the last prohibited kingdom in Nepal but
in 1992, the upper Mustang has been open to tourists. Its customs and culture are completely its
own.. This region is rich in historical and religious sites and has a unique
geography that sets it apart from other regions of Nepal because it is located
in the Himalayan rain shadow. Geographically, it is a part of the Tibetan
plateau hence, rather than Nepalese culture, it is more like Tibetan culture.
The Annapurna Conservation Area includes Mustang. As a result, you can see
magnificent views of the mountain ranges, such as Dhaulagiri (8167 m),
Annapurna I (8091 m), and Manaslu, as you go to Upper Mustang (8,163 m).
A representative of Adventure Glacier Treks will
meet you at the arrival gate of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA),
Kathmandu. And you will be transferred to a hotel, after which there will be a
briefing about the necessary procedures, the climbing route, and your climbing
permit. Depending on your arrival time, you can spend your free time visiting
nearby temples or taking a break.
After breakfast on another day in Kathmandu, our
tour guide will come to pick you up for sightseeing. You will have the
opportunity to learn about famous monuments, culture, and art. The tour guide
will take you to the following locations that are Pashupatinath Temple,
Shyambhu Nath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
After breakfast, we will take an approximately 25-minute flight to
Pokhara. You can enjoy the beautiful Himalayan scenery as you fly to Pokhara.
After arriving in Pokhara, we will check into the hotel, eat lunch, and then,
if you'd like, take some time to relax. Otherwise, you can go boating on Phew
Lake and take a nighttime walking tour of Pokhara lakeside. Explore, rest,
and have dinner near beautiful Lake Fewa.
We will fly from Pokhara to Jomsom in the early morning, which will take
around 25 minutes. We will next go by jeep from Jomsom to Kagbeni and the holy
temple of Muktinath, which has 108 running water taps dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
You will next go to Kagbeni for the night after visiting Jal Devi, where you
can watch a fire start itself (using natural gas), the nearby town of
Muktinath, the Buddhist monastery in Jharkot with stunning views of Dhaulagiri,
Nilgiri, and Tukuche Peak, and the nearby village of Jharkot.
We will tour Kagbeni Monastery after
breakfast. Kagbeni is famous for its Pitri-Puja, also known as
Pitri-Moksastala, which is carried out to save the lost souls of ancestors from
hell and help them get to heaven, bringing blessings to the entire family. Only
after submitting them with a special permit at the checkpoint could we enter
the Upper Mustang area, which has already been arranged by our office team.
To begin, take a Jeep across the Kaligandaki River
near Chhusang Village and, then ascend to Chella Village, Samar Village,
Syangboche Village, Bhina Village, Ghiling Village, and finally Ghami Village.
Today's daytime scenery from Syngboche and other locations will be stunning.
Since this is your journey of discovery, feel free to park your Jeep where you
like and take photos. You will also see Tibetan culture, neighborhood
activities, and farmer cottages with yaks and house caravans in the area.
You will visit several important monasteries today,
including Mustang's Lo Gager Ghar Gompa, Charang Monastery, Lo-mang Thang City,
"Jampa Gompa," the oldest monastery called "God House," a
massive, red assembly hall and gompa created in the late 15th century, and
"Chodey Gompa," the current center of the city and home to a monastic
museum. Additionally, you will see domestic yak and cow caravans, as well as
the scenery from and around Wonder Mountain.
After breakfast today, you will visit Namgyal
Gompa, the Chhoser sky caves, and the almost 3,000-year-old Shija Jhong cave in
Mustang, which has been explored by archaeologists from all over the world.
There are other caverns close to Chhoser that have been used for living,
meditation, and even burial. You'll ride back to the guesthouse in a jeep once
your tour around the neighborhood .
We will drive back to Jomsom today. Along the route, they passed by
several nearby villages, the Kaligandaki River, Buddhist stupas, and
monasteries. The local market in Jomsom can be explored in the evening.
Flight back to Pokhara in the early morning. Rest in Pokhara, have
lunch, and then fly back to Kathmandu, or stay in Pokhara longer.
